We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
Wheels For Workers (WFW) is an inspiring volunteer organization in Buffalo, New York, that refurbishes bicycles to donate to newly arrived refugees (mostly from Ukraine, Syria, and Somalia). These bikes provide essential transportation for the refugees to commute to work, school, and grocery shopping. WFW collects unused bikes and bike parts, performs necessary repairs and servicing to make them functional, and coordinates their distribution to Buffalo's resettling families. In 2022, WFW donated 632 bikes, and this year, we aim to donate 1,000 bikes by 2023.
For this fundraising challenge, DBL Board Member Dan Krassenstein has agreed to take on a biking distance challenge of 1,105 miles from July through October. Dan, an avid NFL fan, plans to rally football team-loving fans in competing cities to "make some noise and raise some funds" to claim bragging rights over their rivals. This distance equals a virtual ride from Wheels For Workers' donation parking lot (St Paul's Church, Buffalo) -> Philadelphia Eagles Lincoln Financial Field -> Cleveland Browns Stadium (Cleveland, OH) -> Buffalo Bills Highmark Stadium (Orchard Park, NY).
Together, we can change lives and create a brighter future for those in need. Join us on this meaningful journey, and let's pedal towards a better world!
